We’re delighted to be supporting our local homelessness charity, Emmaus Mossley, throughout 2019 by creating a Pop-up Emmaus shop on Bank Holiday Mondays.
The Pop-up shop will be housed in the Loom Shop on the upper floor of The Weavers Factory, giving gallery attendees the chance to purchase a variety of vintage items and support the work of Emmaus Mossley.
Our manager Nigel Durkan, said: “Emmaus is a fantastic charity that crucially works on a local level, making a tangible difference to real peoples lives. Homelessness is a national tragedy so the work they do is more important than ever, and we’re very proud to be able to help spread the word. Bank Holidays are always very busy in Uppermill so hopefully people will come to the Weavers Factory, meet the team from Emmaus and buy some fantastic vintage gifts”.
Emmaus Mossley supports 26 formerly homeless people by providing them with a home and work in a community setting. The charity runs a social enterprise in Mossley, selling donated and upcycled furniture, household goods, clothes and vintage wares.
All proceeds from the Emmaus Pop-Up Shop at The Weavers Factory will go to support the community of 26 formerly homeless people who live and work at Emmaus Mossley.
Hazel Hodkinson, Retail Manager at Emmaus Mossley, said: “On each Bank Holiday Monday, we’ll recreate the four corners of the Emmaus Mossley Secondhand Superstore in the upper floor of The Weavers Factory.
“We’ll be bringing a van load of our finest items including vintage furniture, craft and upcycling materials, art supplies, bric-a-brac, books, vinyl and fab fashion. Please join us at this amazing new space, bag some brilliant items, learn more about Emmaus, meet some of our beneficiaries and give us your support.”
